Something like record rates were obtained at Messrs Henry F. Moss's auction yesterday. The first cherries from Victoria this season realised as high as 44s per crate, an average of about is 2d per lb, while the only line of' Milclura lemons in the market sold under keen competition at auction, bringing up to 255-per case, containing 150-160.lemons. A farm of 15g acres, close to the Arahura Dairy Factory, about five miles from Hokitika, was sold by auction yesterday at about double the previous record price for freehold land on the West Coast, the lot fetching £485. The area is native reserve held under lease for 21 vears with light of renewal from the Public Trustee. Record prices were also realised for dairy stock, which averaged £lO 10s. THE SYDNEY LOAN.
