DUNEDIN BAND CONTEST
♦ The above contest, to be held in. Punedm 'from October 14 to 19, promises U be a success. Excellent entries havo been received for all the competitions, and lovers of band music can look forward to a musical treat. On Monday evening, 14th, the 13 gi-ade test selection will be held, while on Tuesday the 13 grade own choico selection will take place.. On Tuesday afternoon the garden party will be held at tho Botanic Gardens. On Wednesday tho quickstep contest will take place at the Caledonian Ground, and tho finals for the champion cornet solo, quartets, and trios in the evening. On Thursday evening tke A grade test., ' Madam Butterfly,' will bo heard, and on Friday the second A grade, test, ' Souvenir de Meyerbeer.'
