CHURCH BAZAARS.
The jubilee bazaar promoted by tho Moray Place Congregational {.lunch and held in the Art Gallery was well patronised yesterday, nearly £IOO being taken. An orchestra, directed by Mr D. Cooke, played during the evening. The results of the competitions were as follow: —Doll, for girls under 13, Miss Connie Jefferson; for girls under 16, Miss Irene Searle; open, Mrs Smeaton. Fruit cake. Miss Bradley. Fancy pin cushion, Mrs W. Smith. Sponge sandwich , (open), Mrs Shacklock and Miss Darling, equal. Walnut cake, Mrs H. Harris. Scones, Mrs Busby. Gems, Mrs Paterson and Mrs Bright, equal. Cocoanut ice, Mrs Robson. Collection of sweets, Miss Owen. Bowl of flowers, (Miss Darling. Basket of flowers, Mrs Bright. Lady’s bag, Miss Bolt. Ladies’ nail-driving. Mrs Adam. Men’s hat-trimming, Mr A. Woodward. The bazaar will bo open this afternoon and evening. Tho efforts of the South Dunedin Presbyterians are being met by a hearty response, _ the residents out there evidently thinking that the appeal for funds to build a new Sabbath school is a worthy one. Last night the bazaar in the South Dunedin Town Hall was well attended, and the “takings” were again most satisfactory. The St. Kilda Municipal Band played selections, a children’s "choir (under Mr Borthwick) rendered ‘ The Mill Wheel ’ and ‘ Rule, Britannia,’ the boys gave ‘ The Policeman’s Song,’ Miss Jean Riddell danced a sword dance, and Miss Enid Bell and Master G. M‘Donald rendered ‘ The Crookit Bawbee.’ The bazaar will be brought to a conclusion to-night.
