DRUIDISM.

A fair attendance of members greeted A.D Bro. J. A. Grant at the meeting of West Harbor Lodge. One candidate was initiated. After the business had been disposed of the lodge celebrated the anniversary’ by entertaining the local Ladies’ Hockey Club and their friends, dancing, music, and cards being the order of tho evening, Bros. Grant and Blackie acting as M.C.s. The brethren of the Royal Oak Lodge met on AJonday night, A.D. Bro. Blacklock presiding over a good attendance, including visitors. The lodge was favored with a visit from P.A. Bro. De Kuine, Devonport Lodge, Auckland, who gave an interesting address on Dmidism in other parts P.A. Bro. Knight (Enterprise) and Bro. Aston (Otago) responded to the toast of the visitors. Bro. De Kuine received a hearty vote of thanks. After disposing of the business the ledge adjourned for the purpose of entertaining lady friends, dancing, being kept up till a late hour. A.D. Bro. S. Anderson presided over a good attendance at the Bay Lodge. After the business had been disposed of the secretary read the balance-sheet of the late bazaar, which showed a net profit of £IOO, for which the lodges are to be complimented. _ The Lily of the Valley Ledge was presided over by A.D. Bro. Thompson, the attendance of members and visitors being fair. A large amount of correspondence was dealt with. A donation to a distressed brother in the North Island was passed for payment. A considerable amount of discussion took place in reference to the continued absence of members from the meetings. _ Bros. Crawford and Paul and P.G.P. Mitchell, in referring to the subject, mentioned that a movement was on foot to start a new lodge in the north end of the City. One candidate was initiated. The loyal toasts were responded to. P.D.P. Bro. Pyke mentioned that P.D.P. Bro. W. Tail (Oamaru) was at present in the Hospital, and would be pleased to see any members of the Order. The lodge closed with a friendly game of quoits, in which Bros. Crawford* and Green were the winners. A large attendance of members and visitors greeted A.D. Bro. Brown at the meeting of the Enterprise Lodge, The Grand Lodge officers paid an official visit, as also did D.P. Bro. Osmond. Sick pay' to the amount of £l7 and a donation to a distressed brother at Waihi w’ere passed for payment. The lodge adjourned for tho purpose of entertaining lady fnendsj who mustered in good force. During the evening Q P. Bro. Connor presented the competition shield to the lodge as being the most efficient in No. 1 and 2 districts, and complimented the officers upon the ritual work. It is reported from San Francisco that should the Supremo Grove refuse tho demands of the Grand Grove of California, steps will be taken to form an American of Druids, it being the desire to come into closer relations with the Older in Australasia. At the next session of the International Union they will be represented, so as to become affiliated with that body.
