There was a full attendance of buyers, and competition was very keen for prime, ami well-got-np skins. Last week’s high values were fully maintained, and in one case- for two bags of super winter does we obtained the record price for the season of per lb, and for another line of super does 441 d was paid, while for super winter bucks as Itigh as 26td per lb was paid. Winter blacks told at up to 35d per lb ; second winter blacks realised from 26d to 27d ; prime lines of winter does sold at prices varying from 33d to . In fawns we again topped the market with the record price of 29|d. which was paid for a line of very nice prime winter fawns. All other classes of skins realised equal!v proportionate values. THE MEAT TRADE. In his speech at the annual meeting of the Wellington Meat Export. Company yesterday. Mr W. (J. Foster stated that the export of frozen meat to the United King, dom tor tho year, with tho exception of beef, showed a considerable decrease on that of the previous 12 months, due largely to the drought in Australia, nud to the late and wet season in the South Island.
