ORDER OF RECHABITES
The regular fortnightly meeting of the Star of the South Tent was held in the tent room, Wesley street, on Alonday evening. There were present a large number of members, over whom C.R. Bro. P. Nixon presided. Six candidates (including an honorary life member) were initiated. An invitation was received from the Hope of Dunedin Tent to a lecture. Keen interest is being taken in the opening of a juvenile branch in the South Dunedin district, and two superintendents were elected. A committee Mas also formed to assist the superintendents, ivho are doing their best to secure members for the juvenile section. 1 The fortnightly meeting of the Pride of Roslyn Tent was held in the tent room under Roslyn Baptist Church on Thursday evening. The attendance- was fair, and C.R-_ Bro. Dan's occupied the chair. An fnyitation wais received from the Hope of Dunedin Tent to a lecture to be given- by Dr D© Lautour. The business was very quickly 'disposed, of, and the members had ample time to carry out the item on the syllabus, which was “ -sing; say, or o-d pay.” The Rose of Roslyn Juvenile Tent are progressing very favorably. The fortnightly meeting Mtis held prior to the adult meeting, when C.R.. Bro. Davis, jun., presided. There was a splendid attendance of members, who enjoyed themselves thoroughly. Three candidates were initiated. At the conclusion of the, business a paperteapng competition wws held. The fortnightly meeting' of tho Sobriety Tent was held in the Young Alen’s Institute, North-east Valley, on Monday. C.R. Bro. Alitehell occupied the chair, and presided over a small attendance of members. Four candidates were initiated. The business of the evening rtas soon disposed of, and the members dispersed early for their homes. The fortnightly meeting of the Hope of the Valley Juvenile Tent was held in the Young Men’s Institute, North-east Valley, on Monday. C.B. Sister Alunro occupied the chair, and presided large, attendance of members. Seven candidates were initiated. After the business of the evening was finished a social entertainment was held, in. which the of the Primrose Juvenile Tent- participated. Alusira! items and recitations -were,' rendered by members of both tents, and were much appreciated. Games concluded (the meeting.
