A spe.cial meeting of club delegates, called nv the Canterbury Rugby Union, was held last night to consider the ;m----eioachnioat of League football in Christ church. The meeting declared loyalty lo the amateur game, and also threw out a resolution favoring the payment- of players for time. lost-. A resolution was adopted favoring tho reinstatement of disqualified players who had only part ioi paled in League practice games. It was decided to secure pciuiis-ion from Iho English Union to alter ioeal rules to improve the game. BROWN SHIELD MATCH.
