The perpetrator of the recent murders at Eatbourne has been identified as Robert Henry Money, whose sister was mysteriously killed in the railway tunnel at Merstham in 1905. There is no evidence that Money was connected with the army. The battleships to be constructed under the current year's Estimates will have a curved and armored upper deck and funnel protection to resist attacks by air craft.
A man named Shalders (Melbourne) was found dead in bed. His wife is in a critical condition. Tho two had lived for 10 days. on whisky alone, consuming 16£ bottles.
At the chess tournament Mr Griffiths had won 6 games out o! 11, and drew 4. Mr Crackanthorp (New South W r ales) won 5 and drew 1.
The Midland Railway Company's employees (Perth) oppose the proposals of the' Minister of Public Works that the lines must be nationalised, preferring to remain in the company's service. Tho Felton bequest trustees have purchased for the Melbourne' Art Gallery Wilfrid Von Glehn's picture of New England for £250.
A reference to historical data has disclosed the fact that the spot; where the coffin was found buried at the junction of two city streets was Sydney's first cemetery, and that the remains were buried probably 120 years ago. >'
