SOCIETY OF ARCHITECTS

[Per United Phiss Assoctatios.] WELLIXGTOX, August 26. Representatives of the New Zealand Architects' Society waited on the Prime Minister to-day and urged that legislation should be introduced this session to en able the_ society to have a corporate existence, with the object of producing more efficient architects. In reply, Mr Massey said he fully agreed with the opinion expressed that inefficient architects were a danger to the community, especially in a country subject to earthquakes. If the Government got en well with the business in hand the request of the deputation would be favorably considered, always on the understanding that no one was excepted from the provisions, of the Act so long as he was of good character.
