SETTLERS FOR OVERSEAS

Press Association—By Telegraph— Oopyrigkt. LONDON, August 25. The emigration returns show that 154,344 people left Great Britain during the first seven months of 1912. Emigration to Canada is on the decrease, while to Australasia it is largely on the increase. A marked feature is that practically no aliens are going to Australasia, though a large number are going to Canada. OTTAWA, August 23. The ' Citizen,' commenting on those returns, attributes the diversion of emigration to Australasia to the sternness of the struggle for existence in Western Canada.
