A SURPRISING VERDICT.

WOMEN MUST TRY WOMEN. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. CHICAGO, August 22. (Received August 23, at 12.45 p.m.) When the jury found Mrs Florence Bernstein, who was accused of murdering her husband while he slept, not guilty, State Attorney Weyman denounced the jurymen in violent terms, pointing out that the woman's only explanation was that she could recall nothing before or after the shooting. Mr Weyman declared that a woman is rarely convicted in the United States when tried before male judges, and th 3 only remedy, he said, is to empannel women jurors, as it is only women who can read a woman's heart. In the interests of justice they should demand women juries.
