REPRESENTING THE NATIVE RACE.
Tho Hon. Dr M. Pomare, who has boon selected a member of the Executive Council, to represent tho Native Race, and has been given charge of Tourist and Health Resorts, was born at Pahon, Taranaki, on January Id. 187(5. He was educated at the Hoys’ High School, Christchurch, and at Te Ante College, Hawke’s Hay. He is an M.D. of Chicago, F.S.A.. and was appointed Government Health Officer to
the Maoris in 1901. Ho con tinned to hold that office until it was retrenched eight years later. Dr Foma re resides at Lower limit. Me is a clear and lurid speaker, who brightens ins utterances with a keen sense, of humor.
