School Girl did not get away at all well, and Red Child obviously lost ground. After going a furlong Prince Warlifck was leading J3r Chutney and Piecework. Red Child then began to break up. In the back stretch Dr Chutney fell back to third place, and Gianella lay fourth. After going six furlongs Prince Warbeck was I leading Piecework by a length. Dr Chutney here went wide, and shortly afterwards pulled up. Prince Warbeck led Piecework along the back, Granite third, a length separating them. With live furlongs to go Warbeck was a length in front of l'iecework. Gianella close up and looking for an opening. All along the back stretch Gianella was boxed. Won by half a head; Gianella four lengths away'; then CHve and Miramar. Time, 4niin 40sec.
