MOTOR CAR ACCIDENTS.

TO THS EDITOR. Sir, —I am very pleased indeed tn find that someone has at last drawn public attention to the way that motor cars are driven through our streets. Your correspondent "Pull Up" is to be commended for his letter on the subject, and his suggestion that an officer be appointed to inquire into street accidents is a good one. The dangers that the public run from tho careless conduct of some motorists are truly appalling. Thero is one gentleman who resides somewhere near Ocean Beach who takes unto himself the whole of Prince Albert Road from the intersection of Bay View road to Victoria street. Ho takes the centre of tho street, sets his horn going, and simply lets her "hog," while pedestrians, cyclists, horsemen, and drivers of vehicles rush for safety. This exhibition of recklessness and selfishness is to ho witnessed shortly after 6 o'clock each evening. By the way, from Bay View road to Victoria street is in St. Kikla. Do you know if there is any by-law prohibiting the riding of bicycles on the footpaths in this borough, for the pavements are almost entirely given over to cyclists. It is interesting to note, the joy drivers of motor ears seem to take in .scattering the passengers endeavoring to board south-bound cars at the Post Office, and these motor persons seem all alike. One day Jast week I was a passenger on a tramcar to tlie Gardens. At Knox Church there were a number of people waiting, but Mr Motor Car was, as usual in evidence, and with many honks rushed past, driving those waiting in all directions. Surely to goodness one man, simply because he can afford to own.or hire a motor car, has no right to inconvenience or place in danger the many.—l am, etc., Stop It. January 30.
