BURNSIDE STOCK SALES.
To-day. Sheep.—3,779 yarded, again a. large yarding. Prime heavy-weight wethers sold quite, up to last week’s rates. There was a larger proportion than usual for this time of the year of unfinished wethers. Towards the ond of the sale those declined in price, and if graziers had not Ix-en operating there would have been a slump in this class. Quotations: —Best wethers, 22s to 255, extra to 27b 9d; medium, 19s to 20s; light and unfinished, 17s 6d to 19s; small store wethers, at 13s 6d; best ewes, 18s to 19s, extra to 21s 9d ; others, 15s. Lambs.—42 yarded. Prices ranged from 13s 3d to 235, but the average was between 20s and 21 s. Cattle.—l 69 yarded, a smaller yarding than those ruling of late. It was mostly composed of handy-weights, with a few pens of prime, well-finished bullocks. The first sale—a pair of prime bullocks—realised £ls 2s 6d, and was followed by another at £l4 15s. It was expected that there would be a rise all round on last week’s values.
