WINTER SHOW.
MARVELLOUS INVENTION. MODERN LIGHTING. The opinion was unanimously expressed bv those who visited the great Winter sShuvv yesterday that one firm in particular introduced an ingenious, modern, and moueysavktg lighting plant to the OUjm public. It was t.ho stand of the. Lux Li.TlitComnu.ny 06, 87, 88 High street, Dunedin, and this firm's representatives wore kept very busy taking orders for their magnificent lamps—the house lamps, 90 candle-power, selling freely at 25s each. One cannot fail to realise the fact that up-to-date methods for shop and houfce lighting are essentia.!, especially is this so in " country districts. Throughout the world Lux light has replaced electricity and gins. Most people—as a matter of necessity—are interested in the above. questions. iSoine prominent Wellington firms as Te Aro House, drapers; IJnonomic, drapci-s; Wardell's, Caterer and Carey, Bates and Lees, R. Hannah and Co., •iobu'M'Leau and Sons' new docks, New Zealand Railways, and Hon. Geo. Fowlds have used the Lux light for many years in pia-ce of the latest devices in electricity and gas. They are also used by Herbert, Haynes, and Co. (drapers), New Zealand Clothing Factory, A. and J. M'Farlane, Struthers and Co. (grocers), J. Hislop (.jeweller), lies and Poole (hairdressers), J. O. White (coachbuikler), ' Otago Daily Times,' and A. M-Lcod bailor), and by hundreds of others. Siueo the Lux was first introduced into New Zealand over three years ago the company has had an enormous run on their lamps—in fact, on many occasions extra heavy shipments wero cabled for to meet tho increased demand. From a spectacular point of view- the Lux lamp is very attractive in design—simplicitv in itself—and very economical to maintain. A 1,000 candle-power Lux lamp costs a halfpenny per hour. These lamps are up to date," require no pumping whatever, and may be lighted without even striking a match. The Lux Company claim it is" the only lamp iu the world that has., replaced electricity and gas. Tho stands of Wimpenny Bros, (motor ears), Mr John Hislop (jeweller), and the Lux Light Companv presented an extraordinary daylight appearance last night. At times there was a congestion caused by the large number of people who were .attracted by these brilliant lights.
