LONDON. August 3. Lord Lanedowne, on behalf of Lcrd Hfcrzon, has given notice' to move a motion of censure in the Hous© of Lords on Tuesday in similar terms to that of Mr Balfour.
Mr Balfour's motion in the Commons was sprang with drainatio suddenness, and is regarded in the lobby as a demonstration in force, aiming at the reconciliation of the Unionists, tending to satisfy tho combative policy of the stalwarts, and to compensate them for allowing the House of Lords to pass the Veto. It ha* been practically settled to hold an autumn session. Parliament will adjourn ia a fortnight and resume in October. PRESS COMMENTS. LONDON. August 3. (Received August 4, at 8.5 a.m.) ' The Times' (U.) states that the censure motion will afford th© Ministry an opportunity of explaining and vindicating their action in relation to tho King's prerogative. The motion, it says, is the result of the stalwarts' appeal to Mr Balfour. Some of the Opposition papers attribute to the. tenacity of the stalwarts tho breathing of a new spirit into the Unionist patty, while others regard it as a rebuke- to indiscreet Unionist zealots. The Radical Pa-ess affirm that Mr Balfour is making capital out of tho Crown, and that the motion is on effort to placate the rebels in his own party.
