A RED-LETTER DAY.

[Per United Press Association.] AUCKLAND, August 4. At the inauguration of the Vancouver service, celebrated by a luncheon on the Mnrama to-day, Mr Parr (the .Mayor) remarked Uiut this was a red-letter day, the inclusion of Auckland in the All-Red Routs being & matter of general satisfaction to the Empire, to New Zealand, aud to this portion in particular. He congratulated the Union Company on their enterprise and pluck. Captain Morrisby said that without boasting he could say New Zealand would have one of the best services on tho Pacific.
