COUNTRY TEAMS ON TOUE. Tho North Island minor unions' team were defeated by Tarannki at New Plymouth yesterday by 11 points to 6, At Christchurch the South Island country representatives wore vanquished by Canterbury by 28 pcints to 3. The local backs had too much combination for tteir opponents, who were under the disadvantage of not having played together previously. MAORIS v. WAIRARAPA. A drawn game was played at Carterton vesterday between the Maori team and Wairn.rapa. For the former Rogers kicked a goal from a mark, and for the latter Hodge a goal from a free kick. In the second ha'if four Wairarapa men were knocked out. nine, however, biietaining serious injuiy. INTEICISLAND SELECTORS. The Management Committee of the New Zealand Rugby Union have appointed Messrs D. Gailaher (Auckland), A. Humphries (Taranaki), and H, D. Thomson (Wellington) selectors of the North Island team, and Messrs R. Galbraith (Invercargill), S. Wilson (Christchurch), and H. Harris (Dunedin) selectors of the South Inland team for the match to be played at Wellington on Saturday, October 7. Tho selectors are to be asked to witness the match between the North and South Island country teams at Wellington on the 12th
