■ ~ ■ -o CHURCH ANNIVERSARY. AVoodhaugh Methodist Church celebrated their anniversary on Sunday, tho services being conducted by the Revs. J. B. Suckling, P. W. Fairclough, and R. B. Tinsley. The social reunion was held lastevening, and took tho form of a tea, which was presided over by Mr W. Bull. Tho report presented by Air Duko (secretary and treasurer) showed that the trust accounts of the new building and piano were in a most satisfactory condition. Addresses were delivered by the Bovs. T. Vealie and R. B. Tinsley and Mr J. Lewisham. The choir sang a number of anthems, and an excellent concert programme was contributed to by the following: Misses Holgate and Vealie (piano solo), Mrs Gibb (solo). Miss Bull (solo), Mr Armitago (solo), Min, Dixson (violin solo),

Miss Vealle (solo), -Mr. T. Holgato (solo), Miss Pridham (solo), Miss Ford (recitation)j Mr G. B. Nicholls (solo). ROYAL LIFE-SAVING SOCIETY. The executive of the Otago Centre ofthe Royal Life-saving Society met Inst night, Mr J. M'lndoe presiding. Tho reports of the secretary and treasurer were submitted and approved. After consider-' iu>g the correspondence, the executive took seriatim the rules of the -proposed St.Clair Life-saving Club. - Among them were rules providing for the efficiency of arrive members, and for marking and for warning the public of dangerous places .on the St. Clair Beach. With' some slight..alterations the rules, as submitted, were- approved.
