THUMPING DAMAGES.
AGAINST MR H. W. BOTTOMLEY, M.P. Press Association —By Telegraph—Copyright. LONDON, June 30. (Received July 1, at 10.30. a.m.) In the Court of King’s Bench Mrs Eleanor Curtis, as executrix for her father, the late Mr R. Master, a retired Civil servant, sued Mr Horatio Bottomley, M.P., for the sum of £57,835, which she alleged the defendant had obtained from her father by selling him worthless shares. The defendant denied misrepresentation, but a verdict was given for the plaintiff for £50,000 damages. A stay of execution was granted on condition that the full amount was paid into court within a week.
