Dr M'llroy, of Balclutha, is exchanging practices with Dr J. 13. Brugh, of Gore.
This morning the officials of tlie Deeds j Office assembled to present Mr W. Wyinks with a, pair of gold sleeve links as a memento of esteem on his transference to Christchurch. Mr Baker acted, as spokesman. Mr W. Armstrong spoke for Mr Wilmot and himself in wishing Mr Wyinks every success. Wo understand that Mr William Armstrong, chief draughtsman at tho Lands Office, Dunedin, has been promoted to bo Chief Surveyor and Commissioner of Crown Lands for the Taranaki district as from the Ist of May next, also ono of tho Representation Commissioners for the North Island. Mr Armstrong is an old Otago High School boy, and joined the office at Dunedin in 1876, in the Provincial dave. Mr R. L. Mullarkey has arrived in town to make preliminary arrangements in connection with the performances to bo given in tho Dominion by Sousa's Band. Tho flag at the Dunedin Hospital was half-masted out of respect to the memory of Nurso M'Knight, of tho Holensville Hospital, news of whoso death from appendicitis was received to-day. Nurse M'Knight served her probationary term in the Dunedin Hospital. Sub-inspector Cruickshank appeared for the first time in tho Police Court this morning, when he took charge of the police cases. Last night Mr Andrew Russell, on severing his connection with Messrs Thomson, Bridger, and Co. to take up business on his own account, was the recipient of a revolving office chair, copying press, and I other oilice requisites from tho staff, -and ft large fireproof safe from the r firn>, '
