PICNICS

ANDERSON BAY SCHOOL. The Anderson Day Public School held their annual picnic on Friday at Taieri Mouth. There was a record attendance, parents, friends, and Committee turning out in good numbers. The weather was perfect. Leaving town at nine o'clock, the party arrived at John Bull’s (dully about twelye o’clock. After lunch surf bathing was freely indulged in by a good number’ but eomc preferred a ramble in the bush. During the remainder of the day games were indulged in. A good number took advantage of Mr M’Kcgg’s generous offer of the use of his motor launch to have a heave on the gentle breakers on the bar. 'Thanks to the friends of the school a plentiful supply of fruit and lollies was distributed during the day. Twenty of the children from the Children’s Homo at Grant’s Braes were with the party, their fares being provided by friends. Before leaving the boat, the chairman of the School Committee paid a high compliment to Mr and Mrs M'Kcgg for their care and generosity, which greatly helped to make the day's outing most ©njcjjable.
