The decision of the House of Lords has been given in the Sliorcditch public-house assessment, appeal, in which the increased license value was made a charge- upon the rateable value of the premises. Lords Lorebuni and Shaw differed from the decision of the Court- of Appeal, and fiords HaJsluiry and Atkinson agreed with it. The- Crown therefore failr, to impose tho additional rateable values. [The effect of the decision will be largely to reduce- the rateable value of licensed properties.]
