In forwarding his protest against the decision of the judges at the Hoi way athletic meeting awarding first place to Holway in the 135 yds event, W. Fisher claimed that he had" won. He stated that a decision had been given in his favor and then altered.—lt was pointed out that according to the rules the decision of the judges on a matter of fact was final, and its was consequently decided not to entertain the appeal, but to return Fisher's deposit.—The judges of the race—Messrs Wills, Fogarty, and Bannatyne —who Were present at the meeting, explained that had given hut ono decision, and that was in favor of Holway. The Secretary of the New Zealand Athletic and Cycling Union wrote stating that ftt a meeting of the Executive hold last month a resolution was passed to the effect that, after carefully reviewing the matter, the Union considered that Mr Corcoran was blameless, and that all patties concerned, together with tho Otago Centre, acted in the best interests of the Union. The selection of Mr Corcoran was in order.—lt was pointed out that owinc to the League of Wheelmen being amalgamated several of the boundaries now overlapped, and it was the intention of the Executive to go into this question. It had also been decided that the rules of the New Zealand Athletic Union and New Zealand League of Wheelmen's rules be adopted and read conjointly.—Received.

A further communication from the secretary of the New Zealand Athletic and Cycling Union asked the Otago Centre to kindly forward its last year's fees by February 14.—1t was decided that the few, be paid, as requested. It was pointed out that the Athletic Union had the- power to take proceedings against a centre for the recovery of such fees, and it was highly advisable that they should be paid forthwith.—Mr C. E. Keast, who put in an appearance, subsequently maintained that he as chairman and two other members of the Centre, who were not present, should have had an opportunity of speaking on a matter of thin kind. Why was there so much hurry about disposing of this question? It was, to say the least of it, disctrtrrtemiß to himself and the other two members that the members present should have come to a conclusion without giving them an opportunity of being heard or. the matter.—To this statement reply was made that the matter had been hung up quite long enough, and the assurance given that no discourtesy to anyone was intended.—The amount payable to Liie Union by the Otago Centre is £33 18a 6d. Mr Ledgerwood suggested that any future matches such as that which occurred on Saturday, February 4. should be held under the sole control of the Centre. If the Centre had to pass the programme, surely it cotild provide officials who were capable of carrying out that programing. It was decided that Mr D. F. M'Kay be appointed delegate of the Centre to attend Executive meetings of the Union at Timaru.
