WASTE OF GAS IX DUNEDIN.
TO THE KDlTOit Sir,—As a straigor in the City, the one tiling that most impresses me is the waste of gas caused by tho antique methods of lighting the street lamps. These Jumps are lit long before there is a.ny need for them. Who is responsible for" such wasto of money? From personal experience I have lit in a crowded city over 140 of these lamps with double ami treble burners in les.s than two hour*. Will Dunedin still cling to the worn-out ideas of past ages':— I am, etc., Tikis. Angles. December 8.
