TWELVE HOURS' LIGHTNING AND THUNDER. MANUKA'S EXPERIENCE. WELLINGTON, December V. On her way from Sydney to Wellington the Manuka, which arrived this morning, pa£sed through an exceptional electrical disturbauce, lasting twelve hours. It commenced about 6 p.m. on Sunday, and from eight till daylight thunder and lightning were continuous. The effect was like a naval battle; there were blinding flashes of light and deafening crashes of thunder. One exceptionally vivid flare disclosed the Ulimaroa silhouetted againfit the dark cloud banke, ttoering westward i to Sydney. Throughout rain continued in I a tropic downpour. OVERSEA STEAMERS.
