DESERTED FAMILIES

(Received December 6, at 9.55 a.m.) The Attorney-General's (Mr Holm an) Deserted Wives and Children Amending Bill provides that when a husband is sent to gaol for non-payment of maintenance orders be be given remunerative labor, the money so earned, after deducting the cost of his keep, to go towards the satisfaction of the maintenance order.
