YACHTING AND MOTORING
The Otago Yacht, and Motor Boat Club held tho lissl club race of the present season tin Saturday afternoon, when (he boats were favored with a good two-reef lior'-ca.-ler. which thoroughly tested, all the boat*. The club had decided io put on only first, second, and third class laces for .sailing boats, and although the first two classes had a fair number of entries, only one, .started in the, third class, the others all having met with some kind of accident, to lh.-ir gear during the week. The, Hag olliecis pnsenl during the afternoon were Vice-commodore Moller and Hear commodore Smith, while Messrs M'Hae, Ha/.hit, Alexander, Gillies, Willis, and I'.obcrtsini Idled the positions of timekeepers, .-farters, and handicappcrs. Needless to say, all the races wore started well to time, Results :

Tui took the lead iioni the stall, and was never troubled, while Imp (the scratch boa!) put. up a good performance. MOTOR HOAT RACK (over 5 h.p.l. Query soon took the lead, and held it during the race, but only on sufferance, as the Tougaioa was steadily overhauling her. Clonfaf did Very well, and gained lirst place on handicap, but Meteor and t/rayling found Ihe first three boats a bit- too fast.
