LODGE MEETINGS
Pioneer of Dunedin Lodge _ hold their weekly meeting on Tuesday occning in the Club House. Uro. L. .Maelarlane, C. Ik. presided. Deports were received Imm dilIfcroul branches. It \v;i> reported (hat tiro Templar parade in Trinity Church was a deemed success. about cue hundred Templars attending in legalii. The Kcv. Fairdough preached a piactical temperance sermon'. A debate was arranged with the Hope of Caversham Lodge, and three dohitters appointed. The I Land Chief Templar (Pro. IL C. Cameron) was present, and spoke on the progress of temperance during the last fitly years, and on the manv good points in tiie" Bill just passed by the Oovernment, which came veiy near the jilatform of Good Templars. A musical programme was gout' through, and rotes of thanks were accorded to trie visitor;; and till those who had assisted to make the evening so very enjoyable. iLetor ,M;u{aiTtutu acted as" accompanist. The usual jortnighliy meeting of Court Pride of Dunedin, A.0.F., was held in (he Oddfellows’ Hall, Haltrny sired. Ckll. Uro. W. .M‘Qm;en was in the chair.
Court Woodland’s Prido (female) paid the Court an official visit, and on tho toast of the visitors being given, C.R. Sister Burke responded. P.C.R. Bro. Turnbull responded on behalf of Court Enterprise. After the business of the meeting had been completed a Dutcli auction was held in aid of the juveniles. P.C.R. Bro. Hudson (Court Enterprise) acted in a very capable manner as auctioneer, the proceeds being considered very satisfactory. A vote of,thanks and the Foresters’ lire was accorded Bro. Hudson for his services.
