The sick and funeral fund contolidation scheme wiis received, and will receive consideration at the quarterly
meeting. The Bay Lodg€ celebrated their fifth anniversary by holding un " open night" in the I'resbyteriin U.S. Hall, Anderson Bay, last week, and in response 'to the invitations the hall w-as filled by members of the Order, lady friends, and residents of tho district. D.G. President Bro. Iv Sunderland occupied the chair, being supported by DG. Secretary Bro. I). Larnach, D.li. Treasurer Bro. E. Keilett, J.l'.A. Bro. R. S. Cox, and A.D. Bro. K. Fox. Bro. Sunderland welcomed the visitors, and expressed pleasure at seeing such a largo gathering present, and congratulated the lodge on its continued progress. A first-class programme was submitted, which was much appreciated, judging by the hearty applause and the demand for encores. Those who contribnted items were Mr W. M. Beck and Miss Beck (piano duet). Masters Ferguson (selections, violin «nd piccolo). Miss Densem (song), i\Lrs • Evans .(song), Mr Garnet (song), Master and A.'iss Al'Donald (duet), Mr Cunningham (song). Miss Parker (song), M'Donald (song), Mr G. Swann (comic song), whilst. Messrs Beck and Parker and Misses Beck and Parker contributed a 'quartet. Br >. W. M. Beck presided at the 'piano. On the motion of Bro. D. Larnat hj a hearty vote of thanks was carried by acclamation to the Bay Lodge and the performers. The arrangements' for tlte ?r-.*.ertainment were excellent, and credit ?> .'no to Uros. R. S. Cuf and S. Fox for the success of the evening. The members of the Order evidently appreciated the efforts of" the Bay Lodge, and the presence of so many brethren in regalia was very impressive Brethren journeyed from Mosgiel and Port Chalmers, and the Bay Lodge i\re indebted to them for their presence. At the fortnightly meeting of the Royal Oak Lodge there was a good attendance of members, presided over by A.D. Bro. Churchill. One candidate was initiated. D.P. Bro. Smeaton paid the. lodge a visit, and was heartily welcomed. The juvenile Jodge • Our Boys' Brigade," in charge of P.D.P. Bro. -Dove, visited the lodge and at the* hands of thesenior members spent a very yh'3 sunt evening, which was appreciated oy the boy.;. The toast of tho visitors 'Bits. Metrulf, f«*ert3ou, and M'Lean.
