THE WEATHER
Mr Paulin telephoned at 2 p.m. ; Strong N.E. to N.W. winds. The West Coast and Central Otago are warned of heavy weather after twenty-four hours. Barometer fail fast. The Rev. D. C. Bates reports:—Southerly moderate to strong winds, probably squallv at times; expect showery and changeable weather, and probably a very cold night; expect very high pressure; sea moderate, tides good. Onv Tapanui correspondent wires:— After weeks of roiigh weather, with light slipwers, there was a heavy fall of snow on tins’ high ranges in the Upper Pomahaka region. The weather is very cold, and tho spring-sown grain is backward.
