Mr L. J. Wild. 8.A., of .Dunedin, has been appointed an assistant master at Wellington Hoys' College.
'The secretary of Mr Sidney Wolfs choir (Mr Slirimpton) has received a letter from tho flovcruor expressing his willingness to become patron of the choir. His Excellency added that ho hoped to bo present at one of tho concerts given by the choir. It Ls reported that tho United States Ambassador to Turkey (Mr Oscar S. Straus) has resigned. The repent, however, is not confirmed. "Our Own" wires from the Bluff:—Mr D. A. Aitken, assistant general manager of tho Union Steam Ship Company, returned from a holiday trip to Australia by the Mooraki to-day.
