The conditions were favorable for good play at- For bury. Otago were aggressive during most of the first spell, and the best of Y.-M.U.AJs defence was necessary in keeping play out of their circle. . Fast forward rushes by Otago kept play mostly in the Bluui' half, and passing between Calder. Ncwtou, and Berry was instrumental ill bringing about two goals in Otago's favor at htdi-time. Ravensbourae 2 goals beat Otago nil. Albion and High School drew, 1 goal each. —C Grade.— Braemar 5 goals beat Momona nil. St. Joseph's drew with High School, no Boore. FHIELD CONTEST. The challenge match at Day's Bay, Wellington, for the hockey shield resulted in favor of Welliiigton (holders), who scored 6 goals to 1 goal by Horowhenua, the game being rather one-sided.
