An accident, which might have had a serious ending, befell Mr Wm. Russell, jun., last Sunday afternoon. Having occasion to call on a friend at the River Station, he essayed to cross the river at) Byrne’s ford. The recent rains had caused a fresh, which swept the horse off its feet, and it disappeared under the water. For his bright and genial disposition and his many sterling qualities he was held in great esteem, and a feeling of sadness pervaded tho township when the news was received of his death.
