At the tri;il of Kanare the police produced a document which had been found on Kanare. in which he stated that he. had killed Mr Jackson (of the India Civil Service) on December 25 for acquitting a European who had been charged with murder, and for oppressing the poor. The document added that unless the work of the Administration whs made impossible, existing evils would continue unchecked.
