DUNEDIN FIRE BOARD

The usual meeting, held yesterday afternoon, was attended by Mr Chalmcr (chairman) and Messrs White, Wilson, Arkle, Bolam, and Sullivan. Air Mowat and Air T. Begg attended as a deputation, and asked upon what terms the services of the brigade could bo obtained in the event of fire in the Valley.— This application was referred to the General Committee, with instruction to also consider t-Ho applications in respect to Knox College and the Burnside Alcat Works. The General Committee reported that they had no recommendation to make in the meantime in tho matter of an increase, in the motorman’s pay; that driver John Leckio has resigned from the permanent staff; that the bell formerly at Wilkie road station has been forwarded to the Alilton Board for approval; and the Committee recommended that an additional grant of £5 be made to tho central brigade For general purposes.—Report adopted.
