CHRISTIAN ENDEAVOR
The Christian Endeavor Union held theii annual meeting last night in tho Trinity tirf&Kib . Church Hall. Rev. W. Crigfl (president) was chairman. It was inen,tioned in tho annual report that the year had boon ono of changes, the Rev. N. A. Davis, president, having removed to America, and the secretary (Mr Nowall) had also left Dunedin. The Committee held cloven monthly and twelve executive mootings, nt which the attendance might have boon bettor. Thanks were extended to all those who had given assistance during the year. Thirty societies were in the union. Tho total receipts for the past year had been £43 5s 9d, and tho expenditure £39 18s 9d, leaving a credit balance of £3 7s 2d—the largest for a number of years. Thanks were tendered tho Hanover Street Baptist Chinch for the use of a room for mootings. The report and balance-Ehcct were adopted. The following office-bearers were elected President, Rev. C. Knowles Smith; vice-presidents—Bovs. Dallastoo and Fairmaid and Miss Black; corresponding secretary, Miss Manson; recording secretary, -Mr Girvnn; treasurer, Miss Wade; convenor Lookout Committee, Rev. Mr Suckling. A musical programme* was contributed by tho following Mrs Don (solo), Misses Stokes and Thompson (pianoforte duet), Miss E. Park (solo), Mr Wallace (violin solo), Miss White (solo), and Miss Taylor (solo). Refreshments were provided. The Rev. Mr Dallaston gave an address on “ Endeavor ” lines, and specially referred to the need of men. The convention will be .continued tomorrow evening.
