ACCIDENTS AND DEATHS

John Judd, aged , fifty-five, had his shoulder fractured, his hip dislocated, and some ribs broken through being knocked down by a Wellington tramcar yesterday afternoon. Ho was taken to the hospital, where ho died four hours later. Tile deceased had been employed at Kiwi, in the Nelson district, as a butcher, but had been in Wellington during the post few months. At present nothing is known about his relatives. Ellen Laura Watt, the young girl who was accidentally shot in. the fate at Palmerston on Monday through a lad named Douglas Morris pulling the trigger of a gun which ho did not know to bo loaded, is still in a critical condition in tho Dun-' edin Hospital. It will be remembered that tho girl's father had been shooting birds in tho orchard, ;ui<] tho last cartrigclo jammed, whereupon ho laid tho gun in what ho thought a safe place. It was found, ami tho accident occurred, which resulted in the girl’s precarious condition.
