OTAGO CENTRE N.Z.A.A.A. The monilily im cling of the Otago Centro N.Z.A.A.A. was field on Thursday evening, Mr L. Sanderson in the elmir. A verbal report from the Subcommittee in refeumcc to the north cn<l track was submitted. A letter from tin; City Council granting the use of the area tvse'd by the Northern Association Football Club was received. The societaiy was instructed to write the Northern Club asking that a date he fixed for a. conference between the two bodies. Resolved that club’s interested be written to asking for financial assistance towards the cost of formation of the track, and that subscription lusts lie issued. The Otago Centre resolved to grant £ for £ up to £ls^ toward; the cast. The secietary of the New Zealand Council wrote in reference to amateurs and professionals competing at house and trade spoils, advising that the matter would be brought, before the next meeting of the Council!' Resolved that a letter ol sympathy be sent to Mr J. R. Wilson, vicepresident, in his illness. The Chairman mentioned that Mr Wilson is greatly improved, and that he would soon be restored to his customary health. The alteration of the monthly meeting of the Centre to the second Thursday in lieu of the first Tiiumday was decided upon. D.A.A.C. ANNUAL SPORTS. The Sports Committee meeting of the Dunedin Amateur Athletic Club was presided over by Mr Y. Jacobs, vice-president. The secretary reported that matters in connection with the animal sports, to be held at the Caledonian Ground on Saturday, the 12th inJ*.. wciy well under way. The entries, which close on Monday at eight o'dock with Mr M‘Donald, High street, are fast coming in, and the meeting promises to he a big success. It is hoped that W. A. Woodger and one or two more Wellington champions may come to Dunedin for the meeting. J. Beatson. the three-mile champion, who returns to Dunedin this evening, will compete in the one and two-mile events. The 100 Yards Race, open to the Dunedin Nava Is. has attracted a big field, and this event will occasion much interest.
