The Minister of Lands states that lho area of the Ruapuna Estate, which lias been purchased by the Government for closer settlement, is 4,423 acres. The price paid was £9 an acre, the total purchase money being £39.807. The exact number of sections into which the estate will bo subdivided has not been determined, but there will probably be from fifteen to twenty sections, although it may be found possible later on to cut up the estate into even smaller areas.
