She is expected to como up to Dunedin about eight o'clock to-morrow morning. One hundred and fifty-eight passengers (75 Fa loon and 85 steerage) were, brought by the Manuka this trip for Now Zealand ports. Magic, anx. scow, saiLi on Monday for f!roynionth via Tirnaru. At Greymouth she "loads a cargo of timber for Gisborne, where she will subsequently be. employed in tie. local trade by Bobb Bros., hor purchasers.

Tarawera, s.s. , was docked this morning For cleaning and inspection. Buteshire, s.s., leaves Lyttclton tomorrow morning for Dunedin, and arrives Dn Sunday morning. Kaituna, 6.6., arrived at the Bluff at 5.55 last night from Edithburg _ with a <jargo of salt and gypsum. She is timed to leave to-morrow night, and to arrive hero on Sunday. Eangatira, Shaw-SaviU new steamer, which left Liverpool on February 19 for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttclton, and Drmedin, is coming via Adelaide. She is due at Auckland about April 12, and at Dnnodin about the end of that month. Bad weather on the West Coast has been the cauee of delaying the Mapourika, Kini, and Ngahere. Tho Pukaki, which arrived at Westport Lust night, is to sail to-night for Oamarii and Dunedin. Hauroto, e.g.. will dock on Monday. The barque Ganymede, which it> about to be converted into a coal hulk by Messrs J. Mill and Co., who have purchased her for that purpose, is a fairly well-known .Dominion-owned trader. In the eighties Mr G. White, of Timaxu, purchased hor from Mr Fletcher, of Adelaide, and on her first trip as New Zealand-owned fhe brought coals from Newcastle. On tho Toturn trip from Timaru she met a gale r>ft Stewart Island, which threw her on her beam ends, necessitating her putting ut a Port Chalmers for repairs. Tho ' ."Janyraedo required a large amount of balast for her size, and probably it was in •ounection with this feature that the dimensions of her masts and yards were sub-.n.-quently reduced. Afterwards she. was cvned by Mr Watorston, and later by Mr Todd, of "Invarcargill. The Ganymede, which is an iron vessel of 573 tons (built n'. Sunderland in 1868), is at present loading timber at Hokianga for Sydney and Newcastle, this probably being her last voyage prior to taking up coal-Hulk duties at "Port Chalmers or Wellington. Captain P. E. Smith, late of the Mokoia, is to resume duty to-morrow, when he will take command of the Monnwai, at Auckland. Captain Robertson will como !o Dunedin to take charge of ihe Hauroto. Kofcare, s.s., did not get away from Catlins till this morning, and consequently will not arrive till to-night. Mr T. Miles, chief steward of tho Ulinaroa, will procee>d to England by tho )tranto to join tho new Iliiddart-Parkor incr Zealandia. "Mr Stone, of the Wimnera, will take Mr Miles's place on the tlimnroa. The Zealandia was launched 'm. January at Glasgow by Mcskts J. Brown and Co. Tho new steamer is a larger TJlimaroa, and will run from Sydney to Melbourne via Wellington, Lyttclton, Dunedin, Bluff, and liobart, as the tJlimaroa docs now. Accommodation is provided for about 200 first clnss passengers, 120 second class, and 126 third clatti. The officers and crew will number about 130. The first class accommodation, coufistir.£ of public rooms and two and three-berth staterooms, will bo amidships an tho upper, shelter, and promenade 3ecks. The second class accommodation xill be at tho aft end and on the upper ind shelter decks, and will comprise staterooms, dining saloon, music room, and imoking rooms. The dining saloon, placed on tho nppor deck, will occupy the full width of the vessel, and will seat ninety persons. The third class accommodation will bo forward on the main, upper, and shelter decks, with cabins for from two to eix passengers. The propelling machinery consists of two sets of quadruple-ex-pansion engines, designed for a pressure of 2151b pe* square inch, to be supplied by peven single-ended boilers. Tho Zealandia ehonld reach Australia in August.

■Cornwall, Federal-Houlder steamer, from Liverpool, is bringing tho following saloon passengers for Dnnedin : —Tlev. K. L. Woodhouse, Dr Francis L. Scott, Mrs Dunlop. The Cornwall is due here about the onrl of March. The Melbourne 'Argus' states in reference to the conversion of tho Mahinapua into a coal hulk that this vessel will probably be tho first twin-screw steamer in Australasia to end her days in thit? undignified guise. The Mahinapua, having been built as far back as 1881 by Denny Firos., of Dumbarton, for the Union Steam Ship Company, is probably one of tho aldest, if Jiot actually tho oldest, twinirrew vessels constructed. The Mahinapua, which ifl built of eteel, is a small vessel of 386 tons gross.
