Her malady was diagnosed as appendicitis, and on Monday night she spent ten hours with her lawyers making a will. The operation was performed on Tuesday, but she never rallied. To seventeen nephews and nieces she lias left sums varying from £5.000 to £IOO.OOO apiece, and "to a Miss Wilmot Champion £50,000. The estate will probably yield the Exchequer £600,000. The deceased had already paid a.' quarter of a million in duty when slie inherited the estate last May.
