[Per United Press Association.] PAHIATUA, December 1. A dairy farmer, Herbert Burgh, single, aged twenty-nine, hanged himself in a cowshed. He had been in indifferent health for some weeks. WELLINGTON, December 1. On a charge of theft Edward Cox was to-day sentenced to three months' imprisonment, and John Riley, charged with forgery, was sentenced to six months. BLENHEIM. December 1. The Supreme Court sittings opened this morning before Mr Justice Denniston. The calendar is an unusually heavy one, comprising seven charges'. His' Honor, in charging the Grand Jury, said the calendar was much longer than usual for the district, but although its length was greater none of the charges wero of a serious nature of their class. AUCKLAND. December 1. At the Supreme Court Augustus Hunter Wheatley, who pleaded guilty in the lower court to the theft of jewellery and postal packets at Taumarunui, was sentenced to two years, the Judge remarking that the correspondence was sacred. Thomas Henry Massoeks, for breaking and entering at Inglewood, received three yeai'6.'
