In the matter of the Standing Orders of the House of Representatives relating to Local Bills; and in the matter of ■ a Bill to bo intituled an Act to Amend the Otago Deck Trust Merger Act, 1908. PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that application is intended to bo made to the General Assembly of New Zealand at the present session thereof on behalf of the Otago Dock Trust, for leave to bring in a Bill intituled an Act to Amend the Otago Dock Trust Merger Act, 1908.' The objects of such Bill arc as follow: 1. To enable the Otago Dock Trust to borrow from time to time from the Otago Harbor Board any sum or sums of money not exceeding in the whole the sum of £5,000 upon such terms and conditions and upon such security its may be agreed upon between the Dock Trust- and the Harbor Board. And for the purpose of securing the repayment of the moneys borrowed or to he borrowed as aforesaid and of interest thereon, to enable (he Dock Trust to pledge and charge in favor of the Harbor Board all revenues, endowments, property, and assets of the Dock Trust, subject, however, to all existing charges on *and securities over the same. To provide that the Harbor Board shall, m case of default in the repayment of moneys borrowed as aforesaid, or of interest thereon, have the same remedies as are conferred upon the holder of a debenture by section 203 of the Harbors Act, 1908, and that section, mutatis mutandis, is incorporated in the said Bill. And that all moneys heretofore advanced by the Harbor Board to the Dock Trust in pursuance of the Otago Dock Trust Merger Act, 1908, shall be deemed to have been advanced under or by virtue of this section, and such advance is ratified accordingly, and j the Dock Trust may secure the repayment I thereof and of interest thereon in manner J hereinbefore authorised. j 2. To amend subsection 1 of section 18 of the Otago Dock Trust Merger Act, 1908, by suhsti i,uting the words “Five thousand pounds for the words "Three thousand pounds in the fifth line thereof. 3. To provide that any consent given pursuant to section 2 of the Otago Dock Trust Merger Act, 1908, by any holder of debentures therein mentioned shall bind the holder for the time being of such debentures. AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that a copy of the said Bill has been deposited for public inspection in the Office of the Magistrate’s Court at Port Chalmers, and such copy will remain open for public inspection.
