LODGE MEETINGS

The Hope of Dunedin Lodge of Good Templars held their weekly meeting on Friday in the lodge room, Dowling street, Bro. H. Quin, G.T., presiding. There was a good attendance of members and visitors. Deports of committees re picnic on Labor Day, and also representatives to the District Lodge, were receiver! and approved. Tho greetings of the Wellington and Canterbury Lodges were conveyed by a brother lately from Wellington and by Bro. Rae. Bothnroth.ers gave interesting addresses on the good of tho Order. The programme for the evening was brothers’ supiiprisc, and was voted a great success. A contest of skill was won by Sis. Logie, fox which she received a prize. The visitors aiid the brothers were accorded a vote of thanks. Tho Hope of Oavcrsham Lodge, 1.0. G.T., held their weekly meeting in the Rew P.M. Hall, C.T. Sis. A. Hobson presiding. Several brothers apoke on the good of the Order, and Bro. Brattle and Bro. Little (Pioneer of Wellington Lodge) were accorded a welcome. After recess a quoit competition was held, and a programme of harmony was also submitted. The visitors’ vote was responded to by Bro. Hughes (Idly of the Valley), Bro. Brattle (Pioneer Ledge, Wellington), Bro. Quin (Hope pi Dunedin), and Helm (Heatup Lodge). C.R. Bro. CoK’ce presided over the fortnightly meeting of Court Excelsior, A.Q.P., held in the court room, Movnington, on Thursday evening. It was announced that Bro. Hamer, S.C.R., intended to resign from office owing to his business taking him out of town. The vacant office will be filled next court night. The Dance Committee reported that all arrangements in connection with the danpc were complete.
