Sho arrives at Port to-morrow morning, and at Dunedin about 1 p.m. Hauroto, s.a., loaves Westport on Thursday night for Dunedin direct. She withdraws on arrival, her place in the Eastern Pacific run being taken by the Tarawern. Tarawera, s.s., from Auckland and East Coast ports, comes direct to Dunedin from Wellington this trip, arriving on Wednesday instead of Thursday morning. Koonya, s.s., expected to leave Greymonth to-morrow morning for Dunedin via the Bluff, will call at Milford Sound this tnp. The bad state of the Grey bar has been delaying shipping, and the Koonya will be kite in leaving Dnnodin for the North. The Kini and Poherua, bar-bound at Grey mouth a week to-day, sailed this morning, and the Koonva and the Waipori, the latter of which had been battling about outside for five clave, cot in.

Kaituna, s.s., camo ont of dock this morning and berthed at the George street pier for the completion of her periodical inspection and overhauL She will resume commission in a week’s time.

Waikare, s.s., docked at Port Chalmers to-day for cleaning, painting, and survey. Victoria, e-s., arrived from Sydney via Fast Coast ports yesterday before noon. Her cargo included transhipments ox Haoroto from Eastern Padfic and Tarnui from London. To-morrow afternoon she will sail for Sydney from Dunedin at 2.30 via the East Coast-.

A. and A. steamer Kabinga, duo cn Thursday from New York via Northern ports, has a mixed crew of Malays and natives of India. They number fiftyfour, of whom twenty-four (Malays) are deck hands and thirty (Indians) are firemen, greasers, and stewards. The Kabinga is a fine typo of modem tramp, and was built in 1907 bv Armstrong, Whitworth, and Co.

The overhaul of the Maheno’s turbines poems to have been very successful, and reflects great credit on the engineers at Dunedin (says the ‘Lyttelton Times’). Over 23,000 blades had to be examined and adjusted, and the work is regarded as one of the biggest engineering feats ever carried out in the Dominion. The vessel on her run from Port Chalmers to Lyttelton gave ample evidence of the thoroughness of the overhaul by making the trip alt an average speed of 1.6.2 knots. Her trip from Lyttelton to Wellington on Wednesday _ night was accomplished in llh 23nun, at an average speed of 15.3 knots per hour.
