FIRE-RATSING

TWO LADS ON TRIAL. [Per United Press Association.] GISBORNE, October 11. In the Police Court to-day two l>oys, Thomas Francis Poster (aged eighteen) and William Patrick O’Sullivan (aged fifteen) were brought up on a series of charges of fire-raising. The first case taken was against Foster, having reference to a fire at the Gisborne Rowing Club’s shed. After evidence had been taken, a plea of “Guilty” was entered. The evidence showed that Poster was slightly weak in intellect, and had been reading a number of sensational books. Other charges against Poster are being heard, and those against O’Sullivan will be taken afterwards.
