LETTERS CONDENSED

D.M. writes: “In your, leading article in Saturday’s issue yon criticised Mr Herdma&’s speech concerning a Bill he wants to bring in to pot the CMt Service under Commissioners, The only fault that I find with your article is that it is not severe enough in condemnation of Mr Hcrdroe-n’s speech and his proposed Bill. If eueh a motion is brought before Parliament to pub the Civil Service (including the mihvayn) under three non-political Commissioners, it will raise such an outcry from North to South that Mr. Berdmati will be sorry that he ever thought of such a thing.”
