[Pee United Press Association.] GISBORNE, October 9. A breeze occurred at the meeting of the Land Board to-day. The Commissioner ruled that Mr Eustace Lane, a member of the Board, could not refer to some Napier case when a discussion was proceeding regarding the question of the Board’s power to grant a transfer. Mr Lane refused to submit to the Commissioner’s ruling unless the majority said he should do' so. A constable was sent for, and on his arrival the Board’s secretary touched Mr Laqe on ■the shoulder and conducted him put of the boom, tho latter remarking that an assault had been committed, and that he had done it for the good of the couptry.
